Why does Kidney Beam need investment?

Katie and Sharlene, Co-Founders of Kidney Beam

First of all we’d like to thank everyone who has been part of Kidney Beam’s incredible journey so far, and we're genuinely excited for what lies ahead. As we embark on the next phase of our journey, we want to be transparent, and answer your questions.

When we launched in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 we knew there was an imminent, and overwhelming need. What we didn't fully grasp at the time was just how fragmented kidney lifestyle management was, and the immense demand for a digital platform tailored specifically to kidney health.

We owe our current success to the unwavering support of the kidney community. The guidance, advice, and financial backing  from all of the community has been integral in getting us to where we are today. We invite you to join us as we continue to innovate, collaborate, and advocate for improved kidney health outcomes. Together, we can make a difference.

Why does Kidney Beam need investment?

The short answer is we are a mission to continue helping as many people as possible live well with kidney disease, while keeping Kidney Beam free for all users in the UK. To do this we need to be able to  become self-sufficient in generating our own revenue.

Through research trials, and invaluable feedback from our Kidney Beam community and Champions, we've identified key areas for improvement such as  enhancing support for existing users, refining our product so we can personalise the content to the person, and hopefully start to reach people across the globe.

So far we've successfully delivered an ambitious programme of research and clinical implementation activities with a team of just 3 people while heavily relying on the goodwill of volunteers who have generously donated their time and expertise.

The investment we are raising lays the groundwork for Kidney Beam's growth and development, providing the necessary resources to deliver our mission.
